My first reaction to this story was, duh! But having two teenage kids myself made me take a harder look at how they spend their free time outside the home. This study is especially troubling knowing that both of my kids are driving age. It's not enough to rely on the fact that my kids are good kids. Underage drinking is not as simple as good or bad kids. It's an equal opportunity addiction.
And the binge drinkers were not simply experimenting -- 69 percent reported having done so more than once in the past 30 days. Teen drinkers in general were more than twice as likely to be sexually active as non-drinkers, the researchers found.
