Don't Go With The Flow

It's easy to get caught up in going with the flow and following the trends. It's not so easy to carve out your own path or develop a way that is not flowing in the same direction as everyone else out there. It's never easy choosing a different bearing, away from the accepted standard.

Look at the iPhone. It's a standard maker that all of the other cell phone manufactures now want to emulate and will be measured against going forward. It completely shifted the flow in a new direction right out of the box.

Stop focusing so much energy on going with the flow. The truth is, you are the flow. You can make a difference. Believing it is the hardest part.

Why An Office Romance Is Like Eating A Twinkie

Have you ever heard of the term work hot? That's when somebody looks really attractive at work only because the options are so sorely lacking, thus making them the hottest person at work. This is typically the most fertile ground for an office romance to grow. I strongly advise against it under any circumstance. I offer you my list of the Top 5 reasons why an office romance is like eating a Twinkie.

1. It never really tastes as good as it looks.
2. You feel like vomiting once you've had your fill.
3. When you realize what it's made of, it's impossible to prevent the self loathing.
4. You still find it difficult to quit after just one.
5. It takes forever to get out of your system.

If you're contemplating an office romance, stumbling on this list of timely reminders is no accident. If you're already entangled in an office romance, all I can say is bon appétit.

That One Thing

It's so true, we live in a time of great choice. Multiples of choices for almost everything in life. There is no shortage of choices. If you're reading this post, it's by your choice. You can choose to read any of the 70 million blogs that exist online.

If you had one thing you could communicate right now what would it be? If there is one thing you wrote that you would want to rise above the rest of your writing, what would you choose? I know, it's hard to pick one. I'm a good listener and I'm willing to open myself up to that one thing you have to say, that one thing you have written.
