I woke up with the feeling that today, more than any other day, I could transform the universe. I somehow believed that if I focused my thoughts hard enough I could make a major change in the galaxy for the good. Shortly after returning to my regularly scheduled self, I accepted that I am only one small blip on the cosmic radar.
Then in a flash my little five year old neighbor Hillary, rode over on her new baby blue bike with training wheels and said; "Hi Ray, can I help you wash your car? Can I walk Domino? Do you want to ride bikes Ray? She has partnered with me in all three of those events in the past few weeks. I talk to Hillary and her older sister Emily almost everyday playing at the end of my street. As if I could ever really escape them being on foot.
Today I realized that through friendship with my neighbors and their two sweet little girls, I am transforming the universe. Their universe is so much smaller than mine, it takes so little to deliver global joy and bring out those big Cheshire cat smiles. I realized in a profound way today, that in their little worlds, I'm doing a whole world of good. That makes me smile.
"Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does." William James
This is such a simple yet brilliant observation - which universe am I looking at?
Anyone can be huge if they can frame their perspective in this way. Keep changing the world :)
